The years 2011 and 2012 were highlighted by The Sisters of Mercy's 30th Stage Anniversary Tour.
As The Sisters of Mercy initially had never thought to make it much further than their first single release The Damage Done and only thought things over after the plaudits they gained with Alice, the event of their 30th Stage Anniversary clearly called for adequate festivities. And The Sisters delivered. The main birthday party took place in Leeds, the spiritual home of the band, and was appropriately celebrated with two successive gigs @The Stage of Metropolitan University SU on February 16th and 17th. The audience were welcomed with fire artists and cupcakes at the doors, and everybody received a set of postcards on entrance.
What followed was a surge of concerts in North and Western Europe, Scotland and the UK (including the first festival appearance in the UK for 20 years), reaching as far as Japan, and in 2012 to New Zealand, Australia and Latin America.
