Merciful Release 3CD Box - Rhino compilation box of their 2006 re-releases

Discription

41-track digitally remastered 3-CD album set from the Kings of 1980s Goth, comprising the albums First and Last and Always, Floodland & Vision Thing, featuring 16 Bonus Recordings including alternative, extended and live versions (2 of which are previously unreleased); each disc is presented in a digipak sleeve, with the set housed in a stickered & sealed card slipcase.

Remarks

• As these CDs were issued as remastered re-releases already in 2006,

each disc of this box set has its own catalogue number and is sold separately as well.

- First And Last And Always: 5101-17579-2

- Floodland: 5101-17580-2

- Vision Thing: 5101-17582-2

• The discs each come in a fold-out digipack including a booklet

of 16 pages (First And Last And Always) or 20 pages (Floodland and Vision Thing)

with an according piece of band history and release information, photos

and lyrics - (no lyrics, though, with First And Last And Always).

Sources

• All bonus tracks are taken from the singles accompanying the original album releases
• Except for 1-16 / Some Kind Of Stranger (Early) and 2-11 / Never Land (full length) which were previously unreleased.
• The mixes of the First And Last And Always album are those of the original vinyl release and for the first time available here in CD-format.

NOTE:
Even though this is some sort of "official release", it is only a matter of record company sales.
Andrew Eldritch or The Sisters of Mercy had no involvement in the remastering process or in these releases.
They were, in fact, not even consulted.
