The NX in Newcastle

The first gig in Newcastle since the 1980s. As the venue had a very early curfew line, The Sisters of Mercy could not play their usual set. However, they surprised the audience with an astonishing and unprecedented version of Dominion / Mother Russia that was accompanied with the Sandstorm live saxophone intro played by early Psychedelic Furs saxophonist Duncan Kilburn, all immersed in an abundance of dry ice. Opening act like during the whole of the Europe 2023 Tour were The Virginmarys.
