Release Notes
- Label: K.R.Ü.M.E.L. Records
- Catalogue#: ON PD 2323
- Format: 12" vinyl LP, Picture Disc
- Released: 1994 (Italy)
Remarks
- Released in at least two editions.
- The first edition is limited to 200 copies, the first 20
of which came in a handmade wooden box.
- The other 180 copies come in a transparent plastic sleeve.
All inserts of these copies are hand-numbered.
- An insert showing the Under The Gun theme and detailling
the track list is included in all issues.
- On the flyer, there are several (spelling) mistakes.
Most importantly, the recording date of Track A5 -
Knockin' On Heaven's Door - was actually the 15.05.1985
in Gothenburg (wrong: "Goethebourg") not the 16.05.1985.
The song was neither played on 16 May at Vikateatret, Oslo nor on 17 May at Kolingsborg Club in Stockholm.
These two were the only other Swedish dates during the 1985 Armageddon Tour.
- The vinyl on side A as well as the flyer note: "a carter/.rizla. production for K.R.Ü.M.E.L. records 1994"
- Vinyl side B notes: - side a (that side): the original mercy side b: (this side) the years after the highlights
Sources
- Side A is subtitled The Original Mercy and was recorded on various occasions between 1983-1985
- Side B is subtitled The Years After The Highlights and was recorded at various gigs between 1991-1993
Re-Release
- According to the insert, this second edition (i.e. this reissue)
was released in the same year as the first one (1994)
and is also from Italy.
- While the vinyls look the same, the accompanying insert differs remarkably.
- It is not numbered and states:
1994 - DISTRIBUTED BY DISCOMAGIC srl.
(with a phone no. and a fax no.)
- Like on the original insert, the tracks are listed, but instead of the recording details
the credits for the origin and the duration of each song are given.
- The Under The Gun theme is gone. There is, however, a blue rubber stamp on it.
- The catalogue# is given as well - ON PD 2323
- Also, a very different font was used - sans serif, mostly bold and in capital letters.
- Like the original insert, this one has mistakes, though different ones:
- Jolene is called "Solene"
- He's Got The Whole World In His Hands is noted as "He's Got The Whole World In This Hands"
- Some Kind Of Stranger is not mentioned at all.
- The credits for the songs given on this insert are partly wrong (Silver Machine) or incomplete
(Comfortably Numb), (Stop Draggin' My Heart Around). Crediting Come Together to Chris Cornell
is simply false. Chris Cornell did only cover The Beatles' Come Together.
