Ghostrider (song)
Ghost Rider was originally released by Suicide on their debut album Suicide.
As far as we know, The Sisters of Mercy covered Ghostrider, as it was called, for the first time live
at Rafters Gallery, Manchester, England on March 27th, 1983 in a medley with Louie Louie.
In the early years, The Sisters of Mercy used to play medleys, which often consisted of Ghostrider / Sister Ray
and/or of Ghostrider or Sister Ray with other songs.
Anyway, the Ghostrider remained part of The Sisters' live set until the final gig of their First And Last And Always line up
at the Royal Albert Hall in June 1985, where they played a Ghostrider / Louie Louie medley.
This track is, however, missing in the official Wake video from that show and surfaced only decades later
in various unofficial audience (video) recordings of the concert..
A live performance of Ghostrider by The Sisters of Mercy from 1984 was unofficially released on the 7" Ghostrider EP.
Live versions of the song can also be found on several further bootlegs like Disguised In Black, Holocaust, Napalm Gods and quite a few more.
Lyrics
Ghostrider, motorcycle hero
Bebebebebebebe he's lookin' so cute
Sneakin' round round round in a blue jumpsuit
Sneakin' round round round in a blue jumpsuit
Ghostrider, ride, ride, ride
Ghostrider, ride, ride, ride
Ride, ride, ride, ride, ride, ride
Ride, ride, ride, ride
Ghostrider motorcycle hero
Bebebebebebebe he's a-blazin' away
Like the star, star, stars in the universe
Ghostrider, ride, ride, ride
Ghostrider, ride, ride, ride
Ride, ride, ride, ride, ride, ride, ride
Ride, ride, ride, ride....
Ghostrider motorcycle hero
Bebebebebebebe he's a-screamin' the truth
America, America is killin' its youth
America, America is killin' its youth
Ghostrider, ride, ride, ride
Ride, ride, ride, ride, ride, ride, ride
Ride, ride, ride, ride....
Ghostrider motorcycle hero
Bebebebebebebe he's a-screamin' the truth
America, America is killin' its youth
America, America is killin' its youth
Ghostrider, ride, ride, ride
Ghostrider, ride, ride, ride
Ride
