Part of The Sisters of Mercy's famous Trans-Europe Excess Tour in 1983.
This was the first time The Sisters of Mercy managed to spread their gigs to continental Europe with concerts in Belgium, The Netherlands (like this one), and Western Germany (not yet reunified then with the DDR), and, afterwards, to the US, followed by a few futher gigs in the UK and a first one in Sweden. So, it's no wonder there's hardly anything known about this concert.
Thanks to our kind contributors, we can, however, present you the announcement poster here on the left.
Only recently, a cassette tape has surfaced, which features various recordings of 1983 from Effenaar.
As the last track, the taper included a recording of The Sisters performance of Emma at this venue.
Many thanks to Heartland Forum member Dan for digging up this rarety from the depths of mixed recordings available on the internet.
