On The Wire was released in October 1984 on the B-side of the 12" Walk Away single.
The song was, however, never performed live in this version.
From 1993 on it became part of a medley with Teachers instead.
At first it used to start and end with On The Wire. Later on,
the end part was omitted to form On The Wire / Teachers as which it was last performed live
on February 12th at Powerstation, Auckland, New Zealand during The Sisters of Mercy's
30th Stage Anniversary Tour in 2011/2012
