i am a sisters fan from back in the early 80's. i attended several gigs and was disappointed when their mission was fragmented in 1985. i always hoped for andrew and gary would resolve their differences enough to make more work.

i mean, c'mon; does anyone seriously think paul mc'cartney or john lennon did anything that was worth listening to after the beatles split? for whatever reason, synchronicity, the whole was infinitely greater than the sum of the parts. and so it was with the Sisters.

i mourn the loss of their (collective) important, and different visiop. i know steve jobs misquoted, or paraphrased, picasso (via t.s. elliot, stravinsky et al.) but it's true ; the sisters didn't invent anything; they built on what came before and much like Newton (...on the shoulders of giants..) used that to refashion something new and important. i loved it anyway - fuck you, if you didn't
