Suzanne (Greek bootlegs)
After a decade-long wait in the absence of an official vinyl release, Greek bootleggers decided to issue
a variety of 7" bootleg-singles and box-sets featuring live versions of the unreleased Sisters songs
We Are The Same, Susanne and Top Nite Out. The name of this 7" single as given on the cover front
is, however, "Suzanne" only (spelled wrong).

Remarks
- This bootleg-single is a limited edition of 200 copies in total and exists in basically three editions:
- 100 copies were pressed on gold-coloured vinyl and 50 copies on black vinyl.
- Later on, another 50 records were issued on multi-coloured black vinyl.
- The labels are printed in grey shades and show a varied detail of the front cover motive on each side.
- Apart from the side note printed in bold capital letters, there is no information given on the labels.
- Basically, all copies of this bootleg are hand-numbered in a specific rectangular white space
- on the cover back. Some are not numbered, though. See the details down below.
- The coverart and the layout of all these editions are similar and differ only with regard to the colour.
- The picture on the cover front shows a detail from the central west portal, the Virgin's Portal
- at Our Lady of Reims Cathedral. The group of sculptures is called - according to its theme
- - The Presentation (of Christ) in the Temple and originally consists of four figures, which are
- from left to right: Joseph (holding two doves as a sacrificial offering), Mary with the infant Christ
- (now headless) whom she is showing to the aged Simeon and Hanna (omitted in the picture).
- Notre-Dame of Reims Cathedral was a coronation church of the French kings and is one of the
- finest gothic structures ever built.
- On the right side of the cover reverse is another picture of a bronze sculpture,
- the origin of which we have so far not been able to detect. It is, however, not
- from Reims Cathedrale as the style differs significantly.
- The left side of the back cover shows a blurred head-and-star logo;
- below it are the track list, the place and time of recording "LIVE IN BELGIUM 22/02/09,
- and at the bottom is a white rectangular space for the hand-numbering such as /200
- The song title We Are The Same, Susanne is shortened and spelled wrongly "Suzanne" on all issues.
- Later on, some further limited editions of 10 copies were produced in the form of
- a) 10 test pressings, and
- b) two box-sets, also 10 copies in total
Editions
- The Greek "Suzanne" 7" bootleg-single was released in various editions of vinyl colour, followed by a test pressing issue and two box-sets.
- The regular editions were limited to 200 copies in total.
Gold-coloured Vinyl
- Format: coloured 7" vinyl single
- 100 copies of this bootleg - and also the first ones to appear - were printed on gold-coloured vinyl.
- The pictures on the basically black cover front and back is toned in golden colour.
- All the information comes in a white print, except the numbering of the available copies on the cover back,
- which is printed in black colour inside a white rectangle below all the other information. The colour of the
- hand-numbering of the individual copies inside this rectangle is done with a marker, however, and can vary.
- In particular the gold-coloured copies are not all numbered.
- Those from the box-sets are all unnumbered, anyway, and do not all come in a gold-coloured cover (see below).
- But other copies with a golden cover have also been seen sold without the numbering space filled in.
Black Vinyl
- Format: black 7" vinyl single
- As far as our information goes, 50 copies of this bootleg were printed on standard black vinyl
- These copies appeared around the same time as the golden-coloured ones, so that their numbering can be way below 100.
- The pictures on the basically black cover front and back are toned in dark rose (some call it "red") colour.
- Covers of this colour variety have also been used for the silver logo box-set, then, however,
- in combination with gold-coloured vinyls and without hand-numbering (see below).
All the information on this cover version comes in a white print, except the numbering of the available copies on the reverse side, which is printed in black colour
inside a white rectangle below all the other information. The hand-numbering for the individual copies is done with a marker or a pen, and can vary in colour.
So far, there have, however, only hand-numberings in blue ink appeared, while the golden-coloured and the multi-coloured black vinyl issues are regularly
hand-numbered with a black marker.
Multi-coloured Black Vinyl
- Format: black multi-coloured 7" vinyl single
- Accordings to sellers' information in online auctions, 50 of the in total 200 limited edition copies were pressed on multi-coloured black vinyl.
- The alleged multiple colours of this vinyl are limited, though, to very few spots that are hard to detect (not only) in the pictures
The motives on the basically black cover front and back of this issue are toned in a purple colour. In contrast to the other issues, all the information, too,
comes in a purple print - not so the head-and-star logo, though, which is printed in a very light blue here. The numbering comes in the same format as the
other standard issues. But there are unnumbered copies contained in the below mentioned embossed black logo box-set.
Hand-numbering on multi-coloured vinyl issues has so far only been seen done with a black marker, similar to the golden-vinyl copies.
Test Pressings
A short time after the release of the golden-coloured and the black vinyls, a limited edition of test pressings was offered in online auctions.
This issue was a limited edition of 10 copies, coming in a black and white cover with otherwise the usual coverart and layout. The rectangular white space for the numbering
on the cover back does, however, not give the number of available copies - .../10 -
and the handwritten number of the current copy. Instead, only one copy hand-numbered with
a blue marker has been seen so far, while all other rectangles remained blank with only the word "test" printed in place of the available number of copies.
The labels of this pressing are basically plain white. Only the a-side is marked with the black print "side A". The run-outs of this issue like of all other issues consist of some
undefinable scratching (see the picture below).
Box-Sets
These box-sets are a limited hand-numbered edition of 10 box-sets in total and are hand-numbered with a silver marker
on the back of the case and on the back of the included insert.
Two different versions exist with a very similar content consting of:
- a square insert card with an embossed silver logo on the front;
- a photo of Andrew Eldritch from the early 1990s;
- a black pin-badge with the new logo in blue print;
- and either a gold-coloured or a black multi-coloured vinyl
- As becomes visible from the pictures below, the contents of these box-sets
- are actually not housed in a real box but in an envelope case, rather, which
- obviously opens to the top and is not wide enough to take the pin-button,
- so that the whole thing is delivered in shrinkwrap.
- With regard to the colour, the vinyls do not necessarily come in their usual sleeves;
- also is there hardly a recognisable rule referring to what vinyl colour would come
- with which type of box-case (embossed silver logo case or embossed black logo case)
Box-Set With Embossed Silver Logo Case
Die-hard leather edition box-set with embossed silver logo case. The box contains all of the above mentioned items:
a gold-coloured or multi-coloured black vinyl, a photo of Andrew Eldritch from the 1990s, a pin badge with the new logo printed in blue on black, and an insert card.
The box-set arrives shrinkwrapped and has an embossed silver print in bold capital letters on the back of the case saying:
LIMITED TO 10 COPIES!!! TURN IN, TURN ON, BURN OUT! and below the silver hand-numbering only giving the number of the current copy.
Like the case, the insert also has a large silver logo on front. It is hand-numbered with a silver marker in the bottom right corner of its reverse,
but in another format detailling also the number of available copies, in the present case 7/10.
This box-set has so far only been seen with gold-coloured vinyls. But there is no guarantee that a box with a silver logo and a multi-coloured black vinyl does not exist.
Anyway, the golden-coloured vinyls here do not come in their usual gold-toned covers, but with red or dark rose covers instead. It is also remarkable that the singles
coming with the box-sets are generally not numbered.
Box-Set With Embossed Black Logo Case
This die-hard leather edition box-set has the new logo embossed into its black case.
It contains the same photo and the same pin badge as the above one and comes with a gold-coloured or a multi-coloured black vinyl, and an insert card.
This version does not come with a printed logo, but has the new logo just embossed into the surface of the black case. On the reverse side of the case the information
LIMITED TO 10 COPIES!!! TURN IN, TURN ON, BURN OUT! is also embossed only into the fabric without any colour printed. Below is the silver hand-numbering giving
the number of the current copy. This box-set, too, comes shrinkwrapped in order to hold the black and blue pin-badge, which would otherwise not fit into the envelope-case.
The insert is hand-numbered on the back in the bottom right corner with a silver marker too, giving the both, the number of the current copy and the number of copies available,
in the present case 9/10.
The box-set here comes with multi-coloured black vinyls. Boxes with gold-coloured vinyl have, however, also been seen (see the pictures above).
The multi-coloured black vinyls come in the purple-toned covers as usual for this colour version, but the covers are not numbered. This does apparently
also count for gold-coloured vinyls coming with this box-set version; remarkably, the gold-coloured vinyls here are - in contrast to the silver logo box-set -
also stored in golden-coloured sleeves (again, see the pictures above).
