Garden Of Delight (song)
Garden Of Delight was written by Wayne Hussey, for Left On Mission And Revenge,
the supposed follow-up album to The Sisters of Mercy's First And Last And Always.
A demo version with Eldritch singing is relatively widespread (like the one here on the right side),
though many listeners believe he sounds as if he is feeling "forced" to sing. Another demo version
of better quality is also available, though.
A Russian flexi disc with this song exist as well, see The Garden Of Delight (flexi), it is not known,
however, which version was used for it.
A demo version with Hussey singing does also exist, and alledgedly he sounds as if he's putting effort into it.
For some unknown reason the lyrics of both versions, whilst identical for the most part, have certain lines edited.
This may be due to Eldritch's dislike of Hussey's songwriting or whatever.
The Mission, Hussey's band after The Sisters of Mercy, produced a remade version of Garden Of Delight
for their single Like A Hurricane to which you might want to listen here..., and also an orchestral version
titled "Garden Of Delight (The Hereafter)" for their album God's Own Medicine.
