When the coronavirus lockdowns brought The Sisters of Mercy's Spring Tour of 2020
to an early end, the band turned to writing new songs instead.

On 25 April 2020, the titles of five new tracks appeared on the official Live News Page
below the tour dates. She's A Monster was the first song in that list.

The first (and so far only) live performance of the song took place on 30 April 2022
at La Riviera in Madrid, Spain.
