Guitarist with the March Violets from 1981 to 1986, Tom Ashton played guitar for the Sisters circa 1983 for a few live dates after Ben Gunn left.
Rumour has it that Eldritch asked Tom to join The Sisters at this point. He didn't. Wayne Hussey did. A shame some might say.
Here's a quote from him about the time:

"Soon after The Violets folded I worked with Tim and Paul from the Danse Society for a while ... and also Stan and Martin from Skeletal Family.
We buggered around in rehearsal studios for a few months in Leeds trying to put a new band together but couldn't find a singer. Had some good ideas
though as I remember. More recently in 1996, Cleo (Murray) and myself had a band called Amania. We wrote one album's worth of stuff, found
Craig Adams to play bass and went out to play the Camden circuit. Some cool tunes but not much response from the industry."

After the Violets' split Tom remained in the music industry, working on soundtracks for film and television,
and playing guitar in a band called Hard Rain and then with Clan Of Xymox.

Tom is now married to an American girl called Rachel and moved to Amercia (Atlanta, Georgia to be more precise) where they built their own house.
Tom and Rachel live there with their children: a little girl called Charlotte and a little boy called Lukas. Tom works as a freelance musician and still
writes and records music. His work can be found on his website: http://www.themultiverse.org

Tom Ashton has also joined the 2007 re-united March Violets, who have recently produced the 5-track EP Love Will Kill You

as a pre-release to their their first full album Made Glorious published with PledgeMusic in April 2013.
