Knockin' On Docks' Door - Cover (front)
Knockin' On Docks' Door - Detail from the tour crew dates on the cover back

A 2LP vinyl bootleg that features one of the energetic concerts during the Tour Thing 1 in 1990 promoting the new album Vision Thing.

The Sisters Of Mercy performed three concerts in a row at the Docks in Hamburg these days, on the 16th, 17th and 18th of November. The present doble record presents the gig of the second evening.

Two songs of this concert - Ribbons and Something Fast - can also be found on side B of the 12" single When You Don't See Me.

Release Notes

  • Label: The Reptile House Ltd.
  • Catalogue#: SM 901 117
  • Barcode: 0 71875 579828
  • Format: 2 × 12" vinyl LP
  • Run out grooves: SM-901117-A to D
  • Released: 1991, even though the back cover notes state 1990.

Remarks

  • Comes with two black vinyls.
  • The printings on the labels show the Merciful Release logo on black background. The are numbered by letters.
Allegedly plain white or red labels exist as well.
  • For the front cover artwork there was used the band photography form the single Doctor Jeep, which was released in 1991.
It was probably culled from the poster that comes with the limited 12" single, and for this reason a fine hairline is visible, just where the poster was folded.
Beside the usual track list, the album title, the name of the interpreter and information about the venue, there are some interesting details:
- (p) & (c) 1990 The Reptile House Ltd.
Which is not true. (Disproofed by the cover artwork)
- A long list of the tour crew (see image on the right).
We could not approve so far, if these dates are true.
- The "Reptile House Approved" logo in bad resolucion (see image below in the middle)
It might be a copy from one of the Heartland Fanzines like it can be found for instance on the cover of the issue nº4.
It appeared the first time in 2012 - 22 years after its original release - on EBAY from a greek seller.
