A bootleg label that emerged from the Trade Mark Of Quality label in 1973,
when one of the founders of Trade Mark Of Quality was pushed out of the
business by his companion and founded his own label with another partner:
The Amazing Kornyphone Record Label
You can read everything about these events and about the history of
Trade Mark Of Quality and The Amazing Kornyphone Record Label
in this blog written by their (co-)founder Ken Douglas:
- It coulda happened this way -
Among plenty others, the label released several bootlegs featuring The Sisters of Mercy.
Often enough, these releases would show both, Trade Mark Of Quality identifiers on the cover
and The Amazing Kornyphone Record Label markers on the vinyl labels.
All of these releases are limited editions.
In the late 1980ies, another bootleg label located in Frankfurt, Germany,
re-released earlier Kornyphone-records under the slightly varied name of
The Amazing Kornyphone Rebirth Label.
Among these were, again, some bootlegs featuring The Sisters of Mercy.
Typically, these releases were issued in a plain white cover with a xerox
glued on the cover front and with "Limited Edition 100 Copies Only"
stamped on the back.
The labels differ from the original Kornyphone-labels and show on side A
an elephant rowing a boat and on side B a sort of crosshairs
Catalogue# and matrix numbers for all the above mentioned releases do always start with "TAKRL".
